A few key points to start this off with:
- I have never blogged before, so bear with me.
- I am typing this with a broken arm, and while I will do my best to blog most of my experiences, it is hard and tiring to type.
- My flight leaves Friday and, after a number of layovers and airport fun, I will, for the first time, be in Budapest, Hungary.
Through my nursing program, I have been given the opportunity to attend a study abroad trip to take classes and work in the ICU at Sammelweis University in Budapest, Hungary.
I'm going to repeat a small portion of that.
BUDAPEST. HUNGARY.
I am, finally, allowing myself to get excited about this trip. For weeks I have been convinced that something would spring up, but, despite a broken arm and unplanned surgery, I am greenlighted to depart this merry country in favor of a different country.
As the trip draws closer, however, I am beginning to realize that I am slightly unprepared for this endeavor. Domestic travel is a no-brainer for me. I can pack the day of a flight and be set to go to TN, NY, or most other states without missing a beat. This, on the other hand, is an entirely different animal. I should have packed days ago, and I still need to pick some things up from the store. I finally STARTED organizing tonight with the help of my awesome mother, but I'm still not ready to go. That being said, I am packing/doing last minute shopping tomorrow so that I won't be totally rushed on Friday.
Just a heads up- I probably won't update this again til Friday or Saturday, but this way you can bookmark this page or 'follow' it so that you'll be updated on all my adventures over the next month.
And last but certainly not least, thank you to all off my family and friends who have been so supportive of this from the start. I couldn't have done any of this without you. :)
Love,
Jess
